Frequently Asked Questions

You’ve got questions. We’ve got answers.

I'm a total newbie to Lego-based Therapy - will I be able to deliver the sessions?

YES, you are in the right place! Brick by Brick Lego® - based Therapy training will give you all the necessary knowledge and skills to deliver sessions in your setting so you can help children that you support. Also, you will be equipped in all the necessary PDF resources so the only thing you will be required to do is to download, print and laminate them. I will also advise you on what other resources you will need that you can find around your setting, for example, collaborative sets or Lego® bricks.

I already run Lego-based Therapy - do you think this will benefit me?

I had plenty of Lego® facilitators on my training and they benefited greatly from it. Some of them were struggling with ideas, others with putting structure to the session, or with challenging behaviour. On top of that, a lot of facilitators struggles with assessments and with shaping emotional and behavioural responses. Most of the facilitators struggle with the assessment, targeting, planning, delivering and evaluating their sessions so this is the right place to enhance your facilitator skills.

Who can access this training?

This is a 10-week online program for people who want to develop children's speech, language, communication and social skills. and can be accessed by:

  • educational professionals (SENCO's, pastoral officers, teachers, TAs and Learning Support Assistants)
  • speech and language therapists, OT professionals, or social workers
  • SENDIASS officers, charity or community workers who support families with special educational needs (autism in particular)
  • short break providers
  • school counsellors and psychologists

How this work?

Everything is online - no travel required. You can access the training from work or home. You can use laptop, iPad or your mobile phone.
All the resources are in a form of videos, PDF worksheets, instructions, links, etc. Simply:

  • watch the video lesson,
  • print the resources,
  • prepare the bricks and you are ready to play.

What's not included in the program?

Lego bricks are not included.

Occasionally, you may also need some other things that you find around your house/school/setting such as bowls, cubs, dice, chopsticks, etc. but you can find these easily around the school/setting.

Will this work if I'm outside of The UK?

Definitely. The principles you'll learn are universally applicable. We have many students from around the world.

Do I need to be technically savvy to take Brick by Brick Lego-based Therapy Training?

You will need a laptop, IPad or mobile phone to watch the video lessons, and access to a printer to print your resources. You will need to know how to send and receive emails.

If you decide to use my assessment tools then you will need Microsoft Office.

That's it. As long as you're hungry to learn, you'll be fine.

How do you support students as they work through the training?

Dynamic, multi-channel, caring support is the backbone of Brick by Brick Lego-based Therapy Training. Once you join the program, you'll have guidance and support from a team via email.

Here's what each student has access to:

  • email bea@beainclusive.com
  • lesson comments (underneath each video, you're invited to comment., post your question and get the help you need. Often within minutes or hours, you'll have a response)
  • community - join our Private Facebook Group - All about Lego based Therapy and connect with other professionals, exchange ideas, resources and views, ask questions and help others
  • chat in the training portal
  • ZOOM Or TEAMS meeting that you can schedule if necessary

Will I get a certificate or official course credit?

Yes.

We all need proof of the continuous professional development and I will send you the certificate of attendance after you finish the training and submit all the requested work (case studies and tasks).
